I purchased this from a very cool South African, named Carlo. Back in the early 1970's he had trouble finding his favorite comics, so he wrote a letter to Marvel. Carlo never thought he would get a response.
"I used to catch a bus into the city every Friday to buy whatever was in the bookstore. It was always with a sense of excitement upon seeing the new issues on the stand. When they suddenly stopped coming for a few weeks you can imagine my disappointment. This is what prompted me to write to Marvel. In those days letters took a long time to get out of South Africa and to receive a reply. I remember being so amazed at receiving a reply in the first place, but it was the personal aspect to the card (IE the hand script note) that blew me away, and that is probably why I hung on to it for all these years." - Carlo.
